Please read if you want to adopt a cat/ kitten from Moggies Cat Rescue.
Please consider this very carefully. Adopting any animal is a serious commitment, that requires lots of attention, care, love and sufficient finances to ensure their needs are fully met.
A cat/ kitten is likely to be a commitment lasting around 20 years or so.
If you are not able to make that commitment and stick to it, please do not apply to adopt any animal at this time.
Please ensure all members of the household are committed and agreed that an application should be submitted.
We are advocates of insurance as veterinary costs are so high.
All cats and kittens adopted from Moggies Cat Rescue are parasite treated, health checked, fully vaccinated, neutered and microchipped.
They are all rehomed with 4 weeks free insurance from PetPlan.
We also operate a comprehensive, vet approved FIV/ FeLV protocol.
We do NOT euthanise cats/ kittens simply because they test positive for FIV/ FeLV.
If anybody is looking for a kitten younger than 4 months old, please visit another rescue.
Please note we do not rehome single, young kittens, unless there is a friendly, neutered, resident cat or cat friendly dog in the home.
We do not rehome cats/ kittens to homes where there are unneutered cats/ kittens.
Anybody wishing to adopt from us is required to complete an application from.
It is not possible for us to reply to every applicant. We are simply too small a team.
Only a very small number of our available cats/ kittens appear on Facebook. Most do not.
At Moggies we like to find out about you/ your family/ home/ experience etc and determine whether we have some suitable matches for you.
Our job is to match the right cat with the right person/ family/ home, to ensure the adoption succeeds and no further disruption is caused to the cat/ kitten.
If we think we have a match/ matches for you, we will then make contact within 10 days to arrange an in-depth telephone interview.
If that goes well, we will then suggest the cat(s) or kitten(s) we believe would perfectly match you.
Following that, we will then conduct a home-check at your address. In almost all cases that will involve an in-person attendance at your home.
If the home-check is successful, the team will bring your new family member(s) to your home on adoption day, to ensure safe arrival and to assist with settling the cat into their new surroundings.
At present, the cats and kittens at Moggies are placed with foster parents in their own homes. It is not, therefore, possible to visit the cat/ kitten prior to adoption.
We request a minimum donation fee of £135 per cat/ kitten, please.
Please note, the veterinary treatment, food, litter etc costs for each of our cats and kittens during their stay at the rescue far exceeds £135.
We are a non-profit charity with NO paid staff. Every donation received goes directly to the care of the cats and kittens here at the rescue.
We rely on kind-hearted supporters like you to keep our sanctuary going. Your donation feeds hungry tummies, covers vet bills, and keeps tails wagging.
